The Color Solutions Specialist provides technical assistance and solutions to other Canon Solutions America employees or customers when addressing installations, testing, upgrades or malfunctions in product capabilities or offering modified or new equipment/applications for meeting customer requirements. The degree of assistance and support ranges from regional to national.


This position will require the ability to work various shifts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provides assistance to a recognized expert in digital color printing and color reproduction technologies.
  • Investigates applications to assist in resolving complex problems during pre- and/or post-installation diagnostics in regards to product performance and customer expectations.
  • Assists with the definition of products and procedures required for accurate and consistent color reproduction.
  • Uses documents and input from technical resources to maintain a database on functionality and specific application solutions along with a history of product offerings.
  • Assists with workflow procedures, application integration, software issues, requirements analysis, compatibility review, added value support, installation and training.
  • Works with Color Engineering consultants and advisers on color profiling, Pantone (PMS) color matching and overall application design to maximize product output.


  • An Associate’s degree (Bachelor degree preferred) in applied science or directly related work experience that equates to a four-year college degree
  • Technical experience in at least two disciplines that are directly applicable to Canon/Océ Digital Document Systems products and services, including vendor products and peripherals
  • Understanding of complex systems solutions, integration and networking in Windows, UNIX & Macintosh environments
  • Ability to take direction on projects of significant scope and impact
  • Act with dedication to the overall team success while working with multiple departments
  • Experience in a variety of color printing environments.
  • Technical knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign) and other printing industry standard tools and their respective file formats (JPEG, TIFF, EPS & PDF)
  • Understanding of color profiling systems.
